Palembang (4/10) – The essential of learning process are both to equip the student with sufficient theory and give them chance to apply it in a real life.
Journalistic writing as part of Bahasa Indonesia materials, gives student challenge to make them alert of what happen surround them and transfer it into written form. To complete the student with knowledge on how media (newspaper – red ) proceed the news from collecting editing, compiling, printing, publishing, and distribute it, some of students from Grade 10 have done an excursion to Seputar Indonesia (SINDO) South Sumatera Headquarter Office today.
Explanation and discussion was done under Ibu Aina Rumiyati as Senior Editor and Manager of Seputar Indonesia. Many questions asked on discussion session. One of the question was, how could student contribute on the newspaper that was adressed by Putra Elnandha Varza (X – 3). Another question was adressed by Ikrom Maulana (X – 1) . It was about how SINDO can compete with technology growth where many people prefer to read e-paper than the conventional one. Bit by bit, students’ curiosity answered through the discussion which run for three hours. “This is my first experience and I feel so lucky to get this knowledge,” Layla Kurniasari as representative of X – 4 stated after the discussion. This excursion is good as a milestone for student to explore their writing skill especially in citizen journalism. (dep, skp)
