Civics Subject

Introduction

As like what all subjects commonly taught at school, Civics and moral education covers the sense of knowledge, skills, as well as values. Civics and moral education is simply designed to shape and help students to be ideal citizens who are basically defined as to have a good sense

of religious faith, knowledge, skills as well as citizenship values and concepts. By those values mentioned previously, consequently, the students are expected to be contributory in term of realizing a democratic and constitutional society.

Each of criteria of being a good citizen in some countries is different to one another. These differences are influenced by the point of view each country has, which is merely reflected in their constitutions. To Indonesia, a good citizen is defined as the one who is able to apply and contribute the roles he/she has to his/her colleagues, other citizens and countries according to the idea of UUD 1945.

As the issues mentioned above, Civics and moral education is to cover the sense of knowledge, skills, as well as citizenship values as described on the structural table of Civics Knowledge below.
